Fire extinguisher bottles and fire extinguishing agents generally have a service life, especially fire extinguisher bottles. Our country has relevant mandatory scrapping period regulations, but there are many types of fire extinguishers on the market. Different types of fire extinguishers have different mandatory scrapping periods, as follows.
1. If it is a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher, the general service life of the cylinder is 12 years. As long as it exceeds 12 years, it must be scrapped. As long as the carbon dioxide fire extinguisher has been out of the factory for more than five years, and after the first maintenance, it must be sent to a professional maintenance unit for re-inspection every two years.
2. If it is a dry powder fire extinguisher or a clean gas fire extinguisher, the cylinder generally has a service life of 10 years and must be scrapped after 10 years. As long as it is a dry powder fire extinguisher or a clean gas fire extinguisher that has been out of the factory for more than five years, it must be sent to a professional maintenance unit for re-inspection every two years after the first maintenance.
3. If it is a water-based fire extinguisher, the general service life of the cylinder is 6 years, and it must be scrapped after 6 years. Three years after leaving the factory, water-based fire extinguishers must generally be sent to a professional maintenance unit for re-inspection every other year.
4. If the fire extinguisher bottle is severely deformed, corroded, rusted, etc., or does not have the name of the manufacturer, actual production date, or the manufacturer has not obtained a production license, it is generally prohibited to use and repair it, and must apply for scrapping.
